We want to think everyone who came out and made this year’s Saint Paddy’s Day shenanigans one for the books. In particular we want to thank Jason and the crew of Port City Music Hall for throwing one hell of a show, Enter the Haggis for gracing our city with their presence (and for putting on one hell of a show), and of course Brian Boru for being the place to be on everyone’s favorite holiday. We’ve got some fun stuff coming up, so please keep an eye on our Facebook as well as our site, and we’ll see you soon!
Hey all, we’ve got a killer Cinco de Mayo show in Boston tonight featuring an incredible lineup. We’ve got our good friends The Pourmen, Spitshiner, the Barroom Heroes and, for the first time, Justin Keenan of The Go Set, one of Australia’s premier Irish punk bands. It’s going to be an epic night of Celtic Punk and Cinco de Mayo shenanigans – see you all at President’s Rock Club at 8!
Hi Everyone – due to circumstances beyond our control, we’ve had to move the second of our two St. Paddy’s Day shows from The Big Easy to Amigo’s. We’re playing from 9 until we’re done, so be sure to keep enough fuel in the tank to stay out with us and get your Irish Punk on!
Here you go – our Valentine’s Day gift to you! Check out the brand new video for our new single “Kalimotxo” and, if you like what you see & hear, download both the original and extended versions of the song in mp3 format for FREE in our merch shop. Let us know what you think!
Saint Patrick’s Day is fast approaching and if your playlist is the same as last year’s then we’ve got some suggestions for you. There are some truly amazing bands in the Irish punk scene these days, some better-known than others but almost all worth your time. Over on our Pinterest page, we’re endeavoring to put together a list of Celtic / Irish punk, traditional, and just plain old good rock ‘n roll bands that you should be listening to all year but especially when closing in on the High Holy Holiday. Some you’ve definitely heard of, other maybe you haven’t, but they’re all worth your time. Check out the list, fill up your playlist, and don’t hesitate to let us know if there are any other Celtic punk bands we should add to the list, which you can check out here.
We’re happy to report that final editing on the video for our new single, Kalimotxo, is almost done! We’ll be releasing the video and the single for free within the next couple of weeks as a “thank you” to all of our friends and fans – the new ones as well as the ones who have stuck with us through the years. The video is a lot of fun and you guys are really going to love both it and the song. Stay tuned, and keep an eye on this spot – we’ll let you know the second it’s ready!
It’s been many years, but this Saint Patrick’s Day we’re returning to the world-famous Brian Boru right here in sunny Portland, Maine, for an epic three-hour throwdown. Everyone knows that Boru is where it’s at on Paddy’s Day anyway, so we’re thrilled and honored to have been asked back. It’s going to be off the hook. Boru is usually standing room only on SPD to begin with, so be sure to get there early – we’re on from 1 to 4pm.
Later that night, for those brave souls still standing, we’re doing a proper club show at the newly-reopened Big Easy. Details on this one to follow – stay tuned!
It’s been a long time coming, but the brand-spankin’ new online home of The Pubcrawlers: New England Celtic Punk is finally up and running. We’ve still got quite a bit of content to add, but we’ve got a nice shiny new facelift and have it laid out so that anything you need to know quickly is available at a glance.
We’re pretty happy with the design but please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any questions, comments or concerns in the contact section below. Thanks, and we’ll see you soon!
